Terms of Service

The terms on which you may use Vestum — what it does, what it explicitly is not, and where responsibility sits.

Draft — pending legal review

A lawyer has not reviewed or approved this document yet. It describes how Vestum is built and how it is meant to work. It is not a final or binding legal document, and you should not rely on it as one.

1.This agreement

These terms govern your use of Vestum. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. If you use Vestum on behalf of a household, you confirm you are entitled to enter the data of the people you add to it.

2.Vestum is not financial advice

Read this clause even if you read nothing else.

Vestum is a record-keeping and analysis tool. It is not an investment adviser, research analyst, broker, distributor, or portfolio manager, and it is not registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India in any of those capacities. Nothing it displays is personalised investment advice or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security.

Everything the app calls a projection, an estimate, a plan or a suggestion — goal forecasts, rebalancing plans, tax estimates, harvesting opportunities, generated tasks — is arithmetic applied to the figures you entered, under assumptions the app states. It does not know your risk appetite, your obligations, or anything you have not told it.

Tax figures are estimates only, computed from published rates. They are not a tax computation, a filing, or professional tax advice.

Decisions are yours. Consult a SEBI-registered investment adviser and a qualified tax professional before acting. Investments carry risk, including loss of capital, and past performance does not indicate future returns.

3.Your account

You are responsible for the confidentiality of your credentials and for everything done under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe it has been compromised.

A family account may hold up to six members. Members can see the household's financial records; the family administrator can also edit them. Adding someone to your household gives them that visibility, so add only people you intend to have it. Exactly what each role can see is set out in the Privacy Policy.

4.Your data is yours

You keep all rights in the data you put into Vestum. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store it, process it, and display it back to you and to your family members.

We do not sell it, and we do not use it to train models for anyone else. You can export the whole of it as a spreadsheet at any time from Settings → Data & Privacy, and delete it from the same place.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. The app's output is only ever as good as its input.

5.Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • enter another person's data without the right to do so;
  • attempt to access another household's data, probe or circumvent our security controls, or interfere with the service's operation;
  • scrape, resell or redistribute market data obtained through Vestum, which reaches you under our providers' own terms;
  • use Vestum for money laundering, tax evasion, or any other unlawful purpose.

Good-faith security research is welcome. Report what you find to security@vestum.app rather than exploiting it, and we will not pursue you for it.

6.Market data and connected accounts

Prices, NAVs and index levels come from third-party providers. They may be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and we do not warrant their accuracy. Never treat a figure in Vestum as an execution price — check with your broker.

If you connect a broker or MFCentral account, you authorise us to fetch your holdings and transactions from it on your behalf. We do not place orders, and we cannot: Vestum has no trading capability. Your relationship with that broker remains governed by their terms, not ours.

7.Availability

We aim to keep Vestum available and correct, but we provide it “as is”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and we may suspend the service for maintenance or change features as the product develops. Where a change materially reduces what you get, we will give you reasonable notice.

8.Limits of our liability

To the fullest extent Indian law permits, Vestum is not liable for investment losses, lost profits, missed opportunities, tax liabilities, penalties, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service — including any loss arising from a decision you took in reliance on a figure, projection or suggestion the app displayed.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

9.Ending this agreement

You may close your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Your account is deactivated at once and your data is erased 30 days later; signing back in during those 30 days cancels the deletion.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to by law. Except where the law or a serious breach prevents it, we will give you notice and a chance to export your data first.

10.Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app before they take effect, and continuing to use Vestum after that date means you accept them. This is version 1.0, effective 3 August 2026. Questions: legal@vestum.app.
